At this years Natural Cosmetics Conference ( a video of this conference is available for $899.99) we learned that new FDA regulations would be posted on the website and going into effect shortly. As it stands the regulations regarding green cosmetics are a hot topic, as most of the small home grown natural skin care and mineral makeup companies are not inspected by the FDA nor are they governed to adhere to large cosmetic company guidelines. The handmade beauty site owner has posted many articles and blogs on this, and runs site members only phone and video conferencing for those interested in joining. What we’ve heard from the grapevine is that they are worried since their whole business venture, books, etc revolves around natural cosmetics.
The safe cosmetics group’s members found out that all their data given to the organization seemed to be used against them, since more rumors surfaced that all of the companies that signed the safe cosmetics pact were not aware their information wasn’t just for those online but handed over to the FDA.gov also. I guess business owners need to be careful what they sign up for.
