At this years Natural Cosmetics Conference ( a video of this conference is available for $899.99) we learned that new FDA regulations would be posted on the website and going into effect shortly. As it stands the regulations regarding green cosmetics are a hot topic, as most of the small home grown natural skin care and mineral makeup companies are not inspected by the FDA nor are they governed to adhere to large cosmetic company guidelines. The handmade beauty site owner has posted many articles and blogs on this, and runs site members only phone and video conferencing for those interested in joining. What we’ve heard from the grapevine is that they are worried since their whole business venture, books, etc revolves around natural cosmetics.
The safe cosmetics group’s members found out that all their data given to the organization seemed to be used against them, since more rumors surfaced that all of the companies that signed the safe cosmetics pact were not aware their information wasn’t just for those online but handed over to the FDA.gov also. I guess business owners need to be careful what they sign up for.
If, as a cosmetic business owner, including mineral makeup company owner, giving your information to others, or paying to be a member of a website, find out if it’s worth the fact that your information is turned over to others on that site, or the site is there to make money from you when you can locate all the information on your own through the FDA.gov website, (business or liability insurance isn’t necessary to purchase, contact your home owners policy provider for almost all small business owners) you don’t need to pay a hand made beauty network or indie network company for that, ad personal attorney will tell you that too.
Remember to research the industry your in or contact the FDA.gov, they love offering the facts it’s why they are plainly posted on their website, so you won’t have to worry about website owners just taking your hard earned dollars to make their own profit.
But then again these are our opinions via emails from business we were members of.
