How To Apply Mineral Makeup - How To Apply Mineral
Foundation
1. The quickest method is the dry method.
If you’re using sample baggies or jars the
method will be the same. What you need to remember is
Luxury Minerals eye colors are loose powders. If you
are not careful with your new products, spillage is likely.
Sifters are in all cosmetic jars unless otherwise noted.
A.
Dip natural bristle eye shadow brush
into baggie or jar. Gently tap off
all extra powder, and lightly
apply, by tapping, color to preferred area.
B.
Tapping off ALL excess powder before application is
important. This prevents waste, and loose powder from
migrating elsewhere. A few practices and you’ll apply
like a Pro!
2. Foiling known as wet/paste applying.
A.
Use your product lid, so when you’re finished the mineral
powder remaining isn’t wasted and can be tapped back into
sifter jar.
B.
Using a clean natural hair eye shadow makeup brush, withdraw
miniscule mineral eye powder and swirl in drop of water in
the lid. If you too much water has been used, add more
powder until you’ve achieved a nice creamy consistency.
C.
Use side of lid, remove excess mineral product from
application makeup brush, gently tapping with brush to
appropriate area of eye. Color may appear to grab and
streak, this is normal. Once mineral powder is dry,
seconds later, blend color on eye lid lightly with a dry
brush.
3. If you are using our
“Mineral Makeup Powder Liners”
use the wet method listed above
with a fine makeup taklon brush, sizes vary for desired
effect. A more dramatic look is achieved by applying
mineral dry powder in same/contrasting color directly over
wet eyeliner or slightly above line, white or pearl white
will make eyes pop when applied to inner ¼ of eye area.
4. Our lip
colors also make great, healthy cheek colors. With
ingredients such as Shea butter, cocoa butter, macadamia nut
oil, just to name a few.

Apply Mineral Makeup Foundation
Tips
Luxury Minerals foundations, concealers, and setting powders
are compact inside sifter jar containers. You may need
to loosen powder.
Carefully remove container lid, and
inner sifter. Replace lid on container, shake
container upside down with lid on lightly tapping to loosen
product. Upright container and again carefully remove
lid. When replacing inner sifter, be careful.
Most clientele do not replace the sifter, but use their
larger vanity jar, tapping small increments of mineral
foundation daily. Vanity and sifter jars are locatable on
our website at
www.luxurymineralmakeup.com.
Always take adequate time when learning to work with your
mineral powder makeup.
Listed below you will find various methods of application
for your minerals. We know you will appreciate the
evenness and concentration of our powders as they allow you
light to heavy application where needed.
Dry Mineral Makeup Powder
Application #1
1.
(sifter insert in container) With lid on, softly tap
or shake product upside down into lid, if you don’t have one
of my sweet, vanity foundation mixing jars, this is a fast,
easy method to use.
2.
Right container. This allows just the right amount of
powder to enter the container between the sifter and lid.
Some women like to tap the powder into the lid; some prefer
to leave it in sifter area.
3.
Using flat part your mineral foundation
brush or chiseled powder brush, gently tap side of brush
into powder. (Tap off
excess powder(every time), or you will wasting product and
end up with poor application and/or streaking.)
4.
Lightly tap powder onto areas of face
where you need heavier coverage first (use a concealer brush
if necessary. Tap powder on the remainder of your skin
where needed. (We do not suggest covering the entire
face with foundation, clients do not need to and the look
like paste faces and artificial. Use your best
judgment. Mineral foundation should
MATCH your facial/décolletage
color area exactly, if it does not, the foundation shade is
incorrect.
Tap gently - the secret to dry method
application
5.
After applying mineral powder to desired areas, use your
large powder chisel brush to blend powder foundation gently.
Use light, short, quick downward strokes.
PREFERRED Dry Application
Mineral Makeup Method #2
1.
Using the same method as
directed above, substitute using a foundation flocked
sponge, makeup sponge, or powder puff. Some clients
prefer using a kabuki, fan, or foundation brush for
application.
Luxury mineral products do not require excessive use of
brushes for buffing or “pushing” powder foundations into
delicate facial skin that other mineral makeup cosmetics
brands require. Buffing in such a manner is
unnecessary; it can be damaging facial skin.
Using a harsh brush with poking bristles as found in some
mineral makeup kits, can cause small abrasions thus allowing
bacteria to enter skin. This causes redness, itching,
cystic acne, as well as skin infection. Skin will
become hardened and thicker due to the damage. Do not
use harsh natural or synthetic brushes when applying your
mineral cosmetics products except where indicated necessary
such as taklon eyeliner brushes/concealer brushes.
ALWAYS use the SIDES of a brush,
NEVER use a brush straight on, that’s not it’s intended
purpose no matter what some other makeup artist or book has
told you.
Liquid Mineral Makeup Method #1
1.
Lightly spritz face with mineral/distilled water.
Hydrosol works well also, after you’ve tapped excess product
from brush before you apply mineral powder to your face.
2.
If powder product dries out before you are finished, spritz
again.
3.
Try substituting makeup foundation brush, flocked sponge, or
mineral powder brush for your wet application also.
Hydrosols are sold in my skin care section.
www.skincare.raesinimages.com and are especially nice to
carry with you for quick touch ups if needed, as well as
their contributing to quenching and nourishing skin with
antioxidants.
Liquid Mineral Makeup Method #2
1.
Mix a small amount of a moisturizer in with your mineral
powder. This offers a light liquid mineral makeup
application.
Liquid Mineral Makeup Method #3
1.
Substitute distilled/mineral water for moisturizer.
Always clean application tools DAILY,
use a gentle (Ivory or Dove) soap. Do not use
antibacterial soap if you want your brushes to last.
Harsh soaps dry out and damage natural oils in the brushes.
Lay brushes FLAT to dry.
